About me

Nour Haurane (PhD) is an Adviser at the University Pedagogical Unit (UniPed). Nour works at the intersection of pedagogy and AI, helping educators design authentic assessment, adopt responsible AI in teaching and learning, and streamline practice through practical digitalisation. Nour contributes to UniPed’s pedagogical courses and delivers widely attended workshops and consultations across faculties, as well as for regional partners as part of the Stavanger AI Lab. At UiS, Nour serves on the multiple groups and has contributed to different guidelines on AI aligned with the EU AI Act. Nour has also provided research-based input to national discussions on competence needs and digitalisation. Publishes also as Abdelnour Alhourani.

My research

  • AI in higher education: responsible use, policy and governance, and staff capability-building
  • Assessment integrity: AI-resilient, authentic assessment design and evaluation
  • Learning design & analytics: evidence-informed course improvement
  • Biomedical Reasearch: Functional Biological imaging (FLIM), Programming and statistical analysis

Academic background

  • PhD in Biomedicine; background as a biology educator and in educational development
  • Training and practice in university pedagogy, ed-tech integration, and learning analytics
