Our group is an interdisciplinary team uniting experts in Social Pedagogy and other Social Sciences. The main goal of the group is to produce and disseminate new knowledge in the field of Social Pedagogy. Our research focuses on the pedagogical, philosophical, and theoretical aspects of welfare practice aimed at children, youth, and adults from marginalized populations.

Research subjects include:

  • Individuals from marginalized groups
  • Professionals working with these populations
  • Minors in care institutions
  • Undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students.

Strategically, the group is situated within the field of welfare, one of UiS’s strategic focus areas. Our work also contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 13, target 13.3, which aims to improve education, awareness, and institutional capacity for climate change mitigation and adaptation, and SDG 16, target 16.2, which focuses on ending abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence against and torture of children.

Members of the research group contribute their expertise to the faculty’s educational programs at the Master’s and PhD levels, supporting both teaching and administration.
