Beyond the urban bias in knowledge transfer – Learning from ‘peripheral’ Hidden Champions in Germany
Thursday, February 12, 12:00 to 1:00 pm Room EOJ 276/277, or join on Teams

Abstract
An analysis of 160.000 collaborative projects confirms a strong urban bias in institutionalised knowledge transfer while quantitative and qualitative research with Hidden Champions in Germany offers complementary and contradictory perspectives. How can we better understand the complex spatialities of knowledge creation and innovation of these firms? What can we learn from studying innovation in ‘peripheral’ settings and how can we theorize from current research focussing on innovation outside of agglomerations?
