Join the DigiFren project for a walk in Sørmarka.

How do landscapes change, and what do we see when we stand on exactly the same spot as an earlier photographer did? On this walk, we shall explore Sørmarka's past and present through rephotography. We shall visit a selection of places, look at historical photographs and take new ones from the same place. On the way, we shall discuss what has changed, why it has changed, and how you can use rephotography as a method for historical research, outreach and teaching.
The event will primarily be held in Norwegian, though English speakers will have no problems following the walk.

The walk will mark the end of the DigiFREN research project and the launch of new teaching resources.
The walk is suitable for all, but those interested in local history and history teachers are especially welcome.

About DigiFREN
DigiFREN is a collaborative European project that seeks to understand how the use of digital technologies to experience natural environments changes environmental perceptions in Europe. In Stavanger, we have used rephotography to understand landscape change through time in Sørmarka.
