What are your current work tasks?
I work as a risk engineer in the section for Complex constructions within the project Ferry-free E39. This is a long-term project that aims to replace all ferry crossings along the E39 coastal highway route between Kristiansand and Trondheim with bridges or tunnels.

My task is to carry out risk analyses and assessments related to accident incidents/accident loads, as well as to assist in and manage processes within technology qualification related to, among other things, materials, production methods, operation and maintenance of bridges.

How do you use the knowledge gained through your master study in your work?
The knowledge and experience I have acquired through the master's program has given me the confidence to carry out risk analyses and assessments with relevant tools and methods.

What motivated you to apply for a study programme in risk at the University of Stavanger?
I already had an education as a mechanical engineer and in materials technology, and thought that the risk knowledge could be combined well with these subject areas. In my current job, I benefit greatly from this collective knowledge.

Why would you recommend studying risk at the University of Stavanger?
The University of Stavanger has one of the strongest groups in the risk field. The subject teachers have deep roots in the industry, which makes the subjects relevant to the students when they enter the job market. Subject teachers are easily accessible and helpful if you have questions along the way.
