SAMSIK - Linjeforeningen for studenter ved Samfunnssikkerhet

SAMSIK is the student association for master’s degree students in Social Safety and Security (Samfunnssikkerhet) at UiS. The degree is mainly a social science field of study, but also includes a technical- and natural science-oriented version. The association was founded in 2011 and consists of about 120 students. The association works towards creating a social and academic environment across active students, lecturers and former students. SAMSIK arranges social events for the students such as student quizzes and academic gatherings so that the students get to know each other better. At the same time, SAMSIK works actively to establish a good connection between students and possible employers in both the public and private sectors so that students, after graduation, have a better opportunity to work with what they want. Furthermore, SAMSIK is also present on social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn. Current and former students can also access additional study related material on SMASIKs webpage by creating a user profile. The website is also a contact point for companies that want to collaborate with students and their master's thesis. The association for the master's degree in social security (SAMSIK) aims to: · Contribute to a good environment for the students during the time of study through social and academic events · Contribute to addressing challenges related to the educational environment · To be an information communicator between the students and lecturers / university · To promote the master's program in social security to other students in other fields of study · Be a point of contact between working life and the students by arranging company presentations and the like.
