On September 12th, the University of Stavanger hosted a conference to mark the conclusion of PAN-FIGHT – a two-year international research project that has investigated authorities’ pandemic risk communication strategies and people’s compliance in five European countries. The purpose of PAN-FIGHT has been to identify correlations between risk communication and social vulnerabilities during the COVID-19 outbreak. Our research teams in Norway, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom have investigated how different population groups in these countries have translated risk communication into adjustments of their daily routines during the pandemic. At the conference, we were joined by keynote speakers Anders Tegnell, Bent Høie, Camilla Stoltenberg and Lars Schaade. In addition to the research team presenting project findings and recommendations for improved risk communication strategies, researcher and practitioner panels discussed knew knowledge and lessons learned in the wake of the pandemic. See programme below for further details and presentations.
