Content
Basic concepts and techniques in reliability analysis are introduced. Themes covered in the course are among others:
- The probability theoretical foundation for risk and reliability analyses.
 - Calculation of system reliability for binary and multi-state systems.
 - Optimization of reliability and maintenance strategies.
 - Statistical analysis of reliability data for both repairable and non-repairable systems.
 - Introduction to different methods for analysis of reliability data.

Learning outcome
After completing the course the student shall:
Knowledge:
- have basic knowledge about basic methods and the theory behind commonly used techniques in reliability analysis.

Skills:
- be able to develop relevant expressions and apply basic theory (concepts, methods/techniques and models) in reliability analysis.
