What is the role of the kindergarten in society?
Did you know that the kindergarten is crucial for promoting values such as justice, freedom, and community in society? This is what Gunnar Magnus Eidsvåg writes about in his new book “The Kindergarten – A Brief Introduction.” The book highlights the kindergarten as children’s place, a social institution, a pedagogical practice, and a workplace.
Eidsvåg is Professor of Religion, worldviews and ethics. He works at the Department of Early Childhood Teacher Education at the University of Stavanger (UiS).
At the launch, there will be a presentation of the book and a panel discussion: How are good kindergartens created?
