Register your application between 1 January and 15 January. You can make changes until the application deadline.
Important information about the application deadline and submission of the application
Students at the Faculty of Performing Arts may only apply for exchange once per year. The application deadline is 15 January, and the application applies to exchange during the following academic year – either for the autumn semester, the spring semester, or the entire academic year. In the application, you must specify whether you are applying for the autumn semester, spring semester, or the full academic year.
Please note: Although Søknadsweb remains open for other UiS students until 1 February, students at the Faculty of Performing Arts must submit their application by 15 January. Applications submitted after this date will not be processed, and no changes can be made after the 15 January deadline.
Where and when can you go abroad?

Check that the institutions you are interested in offer academically relevant courses for you. You must apply for pre-approval of planned courses before you travel, and for final approval upon your return.
You should contact your main instrument teacher/ the course coordinator for the international semester in dance to discuss options and seek academic guidance.
If you are considering applying for an exchange to institutions outside Europe, please be aware that these institutions generally require the payment of tuition fees.
UiS occasionally offers a very limited number of tuition fee waiver places (i.e., exemptions from tuition fees) through agreements with certain partner institutions. Availability varies each year and cannot be guaranteed. Competition for these spots is high, and they may be reserved for students from specific faculties or study programs.
Therefore, as a general rule, you must be prepared to pay tuition fees if you choose to apply for an exchange at such institutions.
How to apply?
Log in to the Digital Student Service Desk and start the Exchange Guide. It's non-binding. There you will receive information and follow-up from the International Office.
You must register your application for exchange in the application portal Søknadsweb within the application deadline.
Please refer to our step-by-step guide on how to apply for and prepare for your exchange
Please contact the International Office via the Exchange Guide if you have any questions.
Student fees
All students going on exchange must pay the semester fee at UiS and may also be required to pay administration and/or service fees at the host institution.
Students participating in exchange programs through Erasmus+ do not pay tuition fees at the host institution.
Please note that institutions outside Europe, particularly in the USA and Australia, usually require tuition fees. If you are eligible for financial support from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), you may apply for additional funding to cover tuition fees.
International students who pay tuition fees at UiS must continue to pay these fees during their exchange period and are not exempt from paying tuition fees at the host institution.
