Language of instruction
The programme is aimed at applicants with a bachelor's degree in performing music or equivalent education.
The language of instruction is normally Norwegian. The working language can be changed if necessary to accommodate the participation of international students.
Learning environment, teaching and learning methods. The teaching method is a combination of one-to-one teaching and ensemble classes. Please refer to the individual courses for further descriptions. The learning environment is composed and is taken care of by teaching with a teacher, project-based ensemble, access to rehearsal rooms on campus and relevant collaborations with performers in Bjergstedparken. Access to their own department library gives students a unique listening and specialization opportunity in music archives. The faculty's large proportion of international students gives the programme an international feel.
The programme is composed of a combination of two courses of 30 credits. The teaching is given over two semesters, starting in the autumn and final exam in the spring. Teaching is normally given throughout the year, but may if needed be structured in concentrated periods of the year. It is possible to take the study part-time.
