Conversion of results for local admission

If you are applying through local admission, we use the conversion scales below to calculate your points for admission.

Conversion scales for education from outside of Norway are guiding scales, and will be used as a starting point for the assessment of the application. If we do not have information regarding your grading scale below, you must upload documentation of the grading scale used in your diploma. The documentation of grading scale might be the diploma supplement, or a different official document from your university that shows the entire grading scale used in your degree.

Scales that are not included in this page will be calculated through an individual assessment process.

The conversion tables on this website are in use by the local admission office for admission to Master's degrees. If you have questions regarding them, please send the questions to masteropptak@uis.no.

The most common grading system in Iran is a scale from 0 to 20, where 10 is the lowest pass grade for Bachelor degrees.

Netherlands

"The Netherlands may have several grading scales, but numerical grades with decimals are the most common.

The grading scale in the Netherlands ranges from 1 to 10, where 6 is the lowest passing grade. Students can have up to 2 grades of 5 or one 5 and one 4 on the diploma. If this applies to applicants at UiS, grades 4 and 5 will be calculated to a numerical value of 1. This is the most common scale. Other scales will be calculated through an individual assessment process.

Poland have multiple grading scales. Many Universities use ECTS now, but some still use numerical grades.

Syria

In Syria, the grading system functions with points out of 100. The minimum passing grade is 50%. In recent systems, the minimum passing grad is sometimes 60%.
