Starting in Autumn 2021, you can study a Bachelor’s in Customs, Movement of Goods and Border Control at the University of Stavanger. This study programme has been developed in cooperation with the Norwegian Customs Service. It is the only programme of its kind in Norway, and you will enjoy a unique combination of theory and supervised professional training during your studies.

The programme is interdisciplinary and includes courses such as law, commerce and movement of goods, intelligence, health and safety, psychology, culture and social sciences, conflict management and logistics.

The programme includes 6 months of supervised professional training at a customs office. Customs officers will also visit as guest lecturers for various courses on the programme. As a customs officer, you will develop good skills in consulting with and guiding the public and trade and industry. Customs officers also work on shipping and charging tolls on goods, combating smuggling and conducting intelligence work across the country. The programme will give you a basic introduction to the field of work of the Norwegian Customs Service.
