Career opportunities: Master in Business Administration prepares graduates for leadership and specialist roles across business, industry, government, and NGOs. Typical paths include fund/asset management, investment analysis, corporate finance, economic and policy analysis, energy and environmental impact analysis, sustainable business development, strategy & operations, and supply chain management. Management-focused roles span HRM and people analytics, leadership and change management, organization development, AI-enabled strategic decision-making, project/program management, and consulting. The degree also meets formal entry requirements for PhD programs.

Academic requirements

Applicants with foreign educational background must have a bachelor's degree with minimum 90 ECTS within economics and administrative disciplines: Business Economics, Administrative Science, Economics and Methodology. The subjects within the fields of business economics and administrative sciences must be equal to minimum 30 ECTS. Methodology must include both mathematics and statistics.

Admission to this master's programme requires a minimum grade average comparable to a Norwegian C (according to ECTS Standards) in your bachelor's degree.

Applicants who enter this programme based on these academic requirements will receive the degree, Master in Economics and Business Administration, after completing the programme. They will not automatically obtain the professional title, siviløkonom.

By going on exchange to one of our partner institutions abroad as part of your studies, you will have an opportunity to get a unique education. Exchange semester (Semester 3)

Study abroad with UiS partners. In the third semester, you can take 30 ECTS of electives at one of UiS’ partner institutions. This is a chance to build a unique course portfolio, grow your international network, and strengthen your profile for globally oriented employers.

We recommend going on exchange after completing the first 60 ECTS of the programme.

You have 30 ECTS of electives and may choose freely among approved courses at the host university.
