Information about the university

Instituto Superior Técnico also called Técnico Lisboa was founded in 1911 and is a renowned institution offering higher education in the fields of Architecture, Engineering and Science and Technology. Technico Lisboa is a part of Univeristy of Lisbon. It has three campuses and courses in Engineering are hold at Alameda campus and has about 11500 students. It is located in Lisbon, the capital and largest city in Portugal.

UiS has an Erasmus + agreement with Técnico Lisboa within Civil Engineering

Language requirements

English proficiency recommended at minimum B2 level for English (read upper-intermediate = 4 in English from "vgs" for Norwegian students). Please refer to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for further information. Students who do not meet the language requirements will be offered online language courses prior to the exchange period.

6 students x 1 semester from MA Materials and Structural Engineering – specialisation “construction” (MA i Materialer og konstruksjoner – spesialisering bygg).
2 studenter x 1 semester ( offshore engineering)

Tuition fee

Student doing exchange within Erasmus+ are exempted from tuition fees

Scholarship

Erasmus+ in combination with loan and grant from Lånekassen for eligible students.

Autumn semester: From early September to late January

Spring semester: From mid-February to late June

Academic calendar

If the exchange semester ends later than the following semester starts at UiS, the institute / faculty (in collaboration with the partner institution) will assist you so that you are not delayed in your studies.

There are various possibilities for facilitation: You may take courses that do not require you to be present during the examination period, you might be exempted from compulsory teaching at UiS or you might be given an extended deadline for submission of bachelor's and master's theses. Contact your study coordinator at the department for more information.

Visa

Norwegian students do not need to apply for visa when travelling to Europe. Students who do not hold Norwegian citizenship must check themselves if they need to apply for Visa.
