This year marks the third annual biodiversity summer school in Macaé, Brazil.
To understand the concepts of sustainability and biodiversity
Awareness about conservation and ecological management
Overview of methodologies: from molecules to ecosystems
Introductory knowledge of environmental and natural resource economics
Outline of social, economic and legal institutions for the protection of biodiversity and use of natural resources
The school takes place in Macaé at the Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability (NUPEM), a multidisciplinary research centre of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
A scholarship is available for Master and PhD students from the University of Stavanger and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Funding aims to cover transportation to the school location, housing and meals. Students from other institutions can apply to join the school without scholarship.
