Welcome to the University of Stavanger Business School

The UiS Business School has highly competent researchers and staff who offer some of the most sought after study opportunities in Norway.

The origin for the UiS Business School was the establishment of the Rogaland Regional College in Stavanger in 1969 with a two year program in Business Administration. The regional College became the University College of Rogaland in 1985 and in 1995 changed the name to Høgskolen i Stavanger/Stavanger University College (HiS). The University of Stavanger UiS was established in 2005 when the former Høgskolen i Stavanger (HiS) received university status. The UiS Business School was established in 2011 and from August 1st 2017 The UiS Business is onw of six faculties at the University of Stavanger.  

The UiS Business School is organized into three departments:

The Centre for Innovation Research, The Center for Entrepreneurship and the CIAM - The Collaborative Competence Cluster for Industrial Asset Management is also associated with UiS Business School.

The UiS Business School offer Bachelor Programmes in Business Administration and in Law. Graudate programmes are The Master of Science Programmes in Business Administration and in Accounting & Auditing. In additon the UIS Business School also offer a PhD-program and an Executive MBA program.

Our 95 faculty members and aministrative staff are highly professional and have a large network of fellow researchers and research institutions both nationally and internationally. For the moment there are 20 doctoral fellows at the UiS Business School. We are closely in contact with the social and business community both in our education and our research .

There are 1200 students at the UiS Business School. Of these, 750 students are at bachelor level, 350 at masters level and close to 100 following the Executive MBA program.

The UiS School of Business offers courses from bachelor to doctorate level. By taking some of our master's degree programmes, it's possible to aquire the Norwgian title "siviløkonomi" or become a NorwegianState Authorized Public Accountant.

All organizations need expertise to manage strategic development and ensure a sustainable use of resources. This is the core of our study programs and our graduates qualify for jobs in industry, banking and finance, auditing and IT, wide-scale  advisory services in both public and private sector.
