The project is also about encouraging education and research through academic mobility.

In May, the coordinator of the project at UiS, Elisa Thomas, and Senior Adviser Egil C. Svela, travelled to Brazil to meet the local partner and organize the activities for the two-years project that is starting now.

At Unisinos University, the representatives of UiS met the rector of the university, Dr. Marcelo de Aquino, the dean of the Business School, Prof. Claudia Bitencourt as well as professors and PhD students who are members of the collaboration project. UiS is planning to take five master students to Brazil during the fall semester to visit local innovation facilities and firms, attend lecture from Brazilian professors and work closely with researchers in order to share knowledge and build competences regarding innovation and entrepreneurship.

Funded by the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Education (SIU) and by the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), the project provides opportunity for students and staff’s mobility between both universities in a period of two years. Also, from discussions in Brazil, the two universities expressed their wishes to broaden the partnership beyond Business Schools.
