The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering offers varied study programs at bachelor's, master's and doctoral level in petroleum-related subjects.

    Petroleum Engineering - Bachelor

    Petroleum engineers work in the oil and gas industry, often responsible for areas such as production, drilling or reservoirs. At this study you qualify for on- and offshore positions. The education holds a high academic international level; some subjects are taught in English.

  • Petroleum Engineering - Master (2 years)

    The Master's Program in Petroleum Engineering qualifies you for an international career in the oil and gas industry. This is the study program for you who is good in science and who has an interest in the development and use of technology. You specialize in either drilling engineering, natural gas engineering or reservoir engineering.

  • Petroleum Engineering - Master (5 years)

    The master's program in Petroleum Engineering qualifies you for an international career in the oil and gas industry. This is the study program for you who is good in science and who has an interest in the development and use of technology. If you are curious about the challenges in the oil and gas industry and want to help Norway utilize its oil and gas resources in the best possible way, both economically and environmentally, this is the study program for you. You choose specialization in either drilling engineering, natural gas engineering or reservoir engineering.

  • Petroleum Technology - doctoral program

    The PhD program in petroleum technology has specializations in reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, natural gas engineering and petroleum geoscience engineering.
