Note: The department changed name in 2018. Formerly, we were Department for Industrial Economics, Risk Management and Planning

Our goal is to be an internationally leading research environment in our chosen fields. The department has, over time, consistently been among Norway's most productive research communities, measured in publication points per scientific staff.

The department is home to the Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety (SEROS), which is an interdisciplinary research centre.

We also have a research group for city and regional planning

The Department of Safety, Economics and Planning is responsible for a wide range of studies at all levels (see full list on our Norwegian page). Several Master studies are open to international applicants.
