International doctoral course at Aalborg University, Denmark October 23rd to October 25th 2017

Aalborg University invites doctoral students from Europe and beyond to participate in an interesting and highly qualified international doctoral course at Aalborg University, Denmark from October 23rd to October 25th 2017.

The course is expected to become a learning- and discussion platform for doctoral students in social work through both keynote presentations and discussions of student-papers.

Course description

The doctoral course will focus on methodological approaches within the qualitative tradition in social work research and is expected to give the doctoral students an advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of primarily new perspectives in social work research. Presentations and discussions will focus more specifically on new developments and methodological approaches in: The combination of  qualitative methods, Practice Research, Ethnomethodological Conversation Analysis, Life story Analysis and Institutional Ethnography and how these approaches fits with complex issues, challenges, problems and organizations in Social Work.

The course contains a mixture of keynote presentations related to the overall theme and workshops where doctoral students present and discuss their work with all participants under the guidance of and response from experienced researchers/keynote speakers.

To make it possible to network and exchange experience all participants will stay together at the same hotel close to the Danish seaside making it possible to network while enjoying the wild and beautiful nature at the same time.
