Alle interessert er velkommen til åpent fagseminar på Handelshøgskolen ved UiS hvor professor Guy Notelaers fra Universitetet i Bergen vil presentere sin artikkel: Measuring leadership behaviours? Lessons learned for the workplace bullying research.
In Leadership studies, Leaders Behaviors are most often measured with the help of questionnaires. These measures often use likert scales where an interval metric is assumed. However, descriptive statistics show that for several leadership behaviors the distribution is rather skewed. Yet, for some leadership behaviors the skewness (and kurtosis) go far above 1.
Moreover, the assumption of the interval metric may be questionable. In this contribution I will illustrate how this may challenge hypothesis testing and / or limit the practical implications of a study by using examples like engagement, job insecurity, workplace bullying. Eventually some leadership behaviours are discussed in more detail.
