Folketrygdfondet is the largest investor in Norway’s financial markets. It manages the “The Government Pension Fund Norway”, the domestic equivalent of the larger “Government Pension Fund Global (the petroleum fund)”.
It currently has NOK 251 billion under management, of which 60% is invested in Norwegian and Nordic equities. Folketrygdfondet is the largest equity owner in most of Norway’s large companies.
In this lecture Ann Kristin Brautaset will talk about the challenges of managing this equity portfolio.
- Being a large owner - problem or opportunity?
- Being a long term owner - how does it affect investment decisions?
- What is the tradeoff between quantitative and qualitative aspects of investment decisions?
- How does Folketrygdfondet solve their unique problems?
The guest lecture is open for all who are interested in the topic.
