Torjer A. Olsen (PhD in religious studies and professor in Indigenous studies) is the academic director at the Centre for Sámi Studies, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. He is of Norwegian and Sámi heritage from the Tromsø area. Olsen is principal investigator in the international research project “Indigenous Citizenship and Education” and has a special interest in indigenous issues in education. He led the committee for Religious Education (primary education) in the making of the new curricula in Norway.
