Bio
Maximiliaan is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Stavanger Business School, Department of Economics and Finance. He started his Ph.D. in economics in 2017. In 2019, he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and the Center for Labor Economics at the University of California, Berkeley (Sponsor: Professor David Card) for 12 months. In 2022, he finished his dissertation “Human Capital Production in Childhood: Essays on the Economics of Education.” His research is within child development and education and applied econometrics and statistics. He works interdisciplinary with researchers in education and social and developmental psychology.
Maximiliaan is associated with the kindergarten project “Play-based Learning” and the project “Social and Emotional Learning & Life Mastery in Early Childhood Education and Care.” In addition, he works with experimental data from the Agder Project, Two Teachers, U-Say, and Resilient. He is affiliated with the Center for Kindergarten Research at the University of Stavanger (Forum FILIORUM).
Originally from Venray, the Netherlands, Maximiliaan has a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from the University of Twente, alongside a Master of Science in Business Administration (with distinction) from the University of Twente.
