Todor is an Associate Professor in Urban and Regional Planning at the Department of Security, Economics and Planning at the University of Stavanger, Norway. He is educated as an urban planner (with specialisation in design and sociology) at the University of Amsterdam and an urbanist (with specialisation in sustainable transformation) at TU Delft, the Netherlands. Todor completed his PhD at the University of Stavanger with a doctoral thesis entitled Balanced Densities for Sustainable Cities, which explored innovative planning strategies for resilient urban growth.

Todor is an active member of the university’s Smart Sustainable City Research Network and Social and Spatial Justice Research Group, aligning with his research interests in GIS modelling, big data applications for resilient and adaptive planning, and participatory urban initiatives that centre community voices in shaping urban futures. Beyond academia, he has several years of experience in private consultancies, freelancing and not-for-profit organisations. Todor currently serves on the leadership council of Placemaking Europe, a pan-European platform for inclusive urban transformation and supports |In|Formal Association, a collective dedicated to participatory planning, as a co-founding member.
