Information about the university

Oldenburg is a good place to live. A mix of entertainment and culture – bars, restaurants and trendy venues as well as theatres and a number of museums – create a big-city feeling. The University of Oldenburg is divided in six faculties and has about 1000 international students visiting their facilities among the total 14000 students enrolled. Wechloy Campus is the campus for Natural Sciences.

UiS has an Erasmus agreement with TUM within Biochemistry.

Language requirements

English proficiency recommended at minimum B2 level (read upper-intermediate = 4 in English from “vgs" for Norwegian students) and/or B1 level for German proficiency (read intermediate = 3 from "vgs")

Students who do not meet the language requirements will be offered online language courses prior the exchange period.

Tuition fee

Student doing exchange within Erasmus+ are exempted from tuition fees except semester fees.

At the University of Oldenburg, student must acquit a semester fee contribution of 301,80 EUR.

Scholarship

Erasmus + in combination with loan and grant from Lånekassen for eligible students.

Visa

Norwegian students do not need to apply for visa when travelling to Europe. Students who do not hold Norwegian citizenship must check themselves if they need to apply for Visa.
