Information about the university

LMU is located in the centre of Munich, and is a large institution composed of about 50.000 students, among which 8500 are internationals. LMU Munich is divided into 18 faculties and the faculty of History and Arts has its buildings at the downtown campus.

UiS has an Erasmus agreement with LMU within Humanities.

English and German.

English and/or German proficiency recommended at minimum B2 level.

Students who do not meet the language requirements will be offered online language courses prior the exchange period.

Tuition fee

Student doing exchange within Erasmus+ are exempted from tuition fees.

Scholarship

Erasmus+-grant in combination with loan and grant from Lånekassen for eligible students.

Accommodation

The “Studentenwerk München” provides the International Office with a number of rooms under their “service package” scheme for exchange students. However, rooms are limited and therefore cannot be guaranteed for all exchange students.

Visa

Norwegian students do not need to apply for visa when travelling to Europe. Students who do not hold Norwegian citizenship must check themselves if they need to apply for a visa.
