UniLaSalle

The École des Metiers et de l´Environnement (EME) and Uni LaSalle have merged into a single higher education institution dedicated to Environmental Sciences: Institut Polytechnique La Salle (IPLS).

Information about the university

IPLS operates on four campuses located near Rennes, Beauvais, Amiens and Rouen in France. The campuses are home to over 2800 students and UniLaSalle offers a range of academic programs at Bachelor's and Master's levels in the fields below:

  • The UniLaSalle Rennes campus: Environmental Science, Environmental Management and Engineering Sustainable Development​​
  • The UniLaSalle Beauvais campus: Agronomy and Agro-Industry engineering, Food and Health engineering, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geosciences

Language of instruction

English and French

Language requirements

English proficiency recommended at minimum B2 level (read upper-intermediate = 4 in English from 'vgs' for Norwegian students). Europarådets nivåskala for språk.

The University of Bergen offers courses in French suitable for students going on exchange to France. The course is available for students at the University of Stavanger.

GPA requirements

No GPA requirements.

Total number of exchange places

2 places for students in Master in Environmental Sciences (Rennes or Beauvais campus)

2 places for students in Bachelor and Master in Earth Sciences (Petroleum Geology - Beauvais Campus)

Tuition fee

Student doing exchange within Erasmus+ are exempted from tuition fees.

Scholarship

Erasmus+-grant in combination with loan and grant for eligible students through Lånekassen.

Academic year

Autumn semester: September – December/January
Spring semester: January – June/July (May for students in “Water and Environmental Management")

How to find subjects

International students at UniLASalle

Rennes Campus - Master in Environmental Sciences: Sustainable Managment and Eco Innovation and Environmental Engineering.

Beauvais Campus: Water and Environmental Engineering Managment (Spring semester only, 30 ECTS) and Petroleum Geology - Geology Field Course (May-June, 10 ECTS).

NB: Students at Bachelor level must have completed their second year in order to apply for the Geology Field Course; applications are to be sent per mail to outboundexchange@uis.no (deadline: 15th of January).

Credits abroad

1 ECTS = 1 Norwegian 'studiepoeng'

Accommodation

UniLaSalle Rennes campus : student must rent private accomodation. The international office can assist finding housing. Students should inform the international office their accomodation preferences while applying.

Beauvais: On-campus accomodation is available. A recidence is dedicated for international students.

Visa

Norwegian students do not need to apply for visa when travelling to Europe. Students who do not hold Norwegian citizenship must check themselves if they need to apply for visa.
