Values in early childhood education

More and more children are attending ECEC institutions, which means that child development and early learning of values in early childhood education are becoming key issues for society.

Understanding values and democracy issues is pivotal in the research field.

The intentions behind the research field are: To develop our understanding of communication processes and learning cultures in ECEC institutions and in ECEC teacher education with regard to values. To develop critical research and systematic knowledge concerning the conditions for Values education in ECEC institutions as well the ways in which children express values. To explore and challenge methodological and didactic questions linked to the research field.

The projects to which the participants in the research field are linked include both their own projects and projects in which we are a collaborating partner.
