To improve the quality and internationalization of education in social work and sociology at the University of Havana and UiS is the aim of this project.

Cuban and Nordic Welfare

The project Cuban and Nordic Welfare will run from 2019 to 2023 and will through mutual student mobility and staff mobility improve the quality and internationalization of education in social work and sociology at the two universities.

In this interview Political Scientist and Cuba specialist Vegard Bye talks about the situation in Cuba.

During the project period, 46 Master and PhD students will exchange between the University of Havana and the University of Stavanger. The project will further support internationalization at the home institutions through joint Master- and PhD supervisions and guest lecturers.

Furthermore, the Department of Sociology at the University of Havana and the Department of Social Studies at the University of Stavanger will undertake joint activities such as curriculum development, teaching, field visits, supervision and research seminars, within the areas of Social Work, Sociology and Welfare Studies.
