Research Network for Sustainable Energy at UiS and NORCE

Together with NORCE Norwegian Research Centre, the University of Stavanger (UiS) has a number of strong academic communities linked to the field of sustainable energy. Our areas of expertise include offshore wind power, energy efficiency, geothermal heating, sustainable aquaculture, carbon capture and energy informatics.

The research being conducted in sustainable energy at UiS and NORCE is organised into a research network: 'Research Network for Sustainable Energy'. Researchers from UiS cooperate with researchers from NORCE within this network. The network has five thematic focus areas:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Renewable technology
  • Green transition
  • Carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS)
  • Smart cities
