A two year funding for the project Educating Graduate Students for Industry 4.0 (EduInd4)

The Norwegian Agency for International Cooperation and Quality Enhancement in Higher Education (DIKU) has granted funding for a 2-year project to UiS, Department of Mechanical and Structural Engineering and Material Science.

A two year funding for the project Educating Graduate Students for Industry 4.0 (EduInd4)

The collaboration of the three institutions (University of Stavanger in Norway, Nezarbayev University in Kasakhstan, and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University in Azerbaijan) will foster the development of competence that will enable the students to be skillful in future industrial jobs. In addition to that, goals set for the project includes developing project-based contents of Predictive Maintenance and Operations Optimization, establishing joint research-based activities and enhancing industrial collaboration through summer industrial internships.

Professor Jan Frick, Chair of CIAM is a partner of the project. The close cooperation of CIAM with the industry is important in terms of establishing joint research activities (master thesis) and summer industrial internships.

There will be a kick-off meeting for the project partners at the University of Stavanger in the fall of 2019 to plan for the future activities. EduInd4 receives 1.4 M NOK for 2 years. Project Coordinator at UiS is Associate Professor Idriss El-Thalji.
