Jan Frick is interim Chair of CIAM

Jan Frick, Professor at the Business School at the University of Stavanger is named the interim leader for the Cluster of Industrial Asset Management from 01. november.

Jan Frick, Professor at the Business School at UiS is the interim leader for CIAM. He was nominated for the role to temporarily take over the position formerly filled by Professor Jayantha Liyanage.

Professor Jayantha, or JP as he was called by most, has stepped down as the Chairman of the Cluster after almost 15 years.

The most rewarding of all, is the rare opportunity to work so closely with so many champions both in industry and academic worlds, hands tightly joined; taking a long walk together believing in the true spirit of partnership and a genuine commitment to ‘being smarter together’ for a professional and a noble cause.

CIAM (formerly SDV - Senter for drift og vedlikehold) celebrated its 20th year this year. The Centre was formally established at the first general assembly on the 3rd of February 1998 with founding center director, Ivar Langen. 

Through the 20 year journey, CIAM together with the University and the dedicated Industry Partners - developed the Offshore technology master program, various courses and seminars related to maintenance, initiated industry forums, an EU project on Sustainable Value Creation in Manufacturing Networks, started the Experience based Masters program in Technology and Operations (MTOM) and several conferences including the recently concluded and successful World Congress on Engineering Asset Management (WCEAM 2018).

As part of the management change, the board want to extend the scope of topics and collaboration in CIAM. This include involvement from several faculties at University of Stavanger.
