Philosophiae Doctor disputas - Gunnar Lian - 4.12.2018

Tuesday, 4.12, Gunnar Lian defends his paper: "Slamming loads on large volume structures from breaking waves" at UiS. Both dissertation and trial lecture are open to all interested parties.

Dissertation will be with the Faculty of Sciene and Technology at the University of Stavanger, Kjølv Egelands Hus, auditorium E-164, south entrance. The trial lecture will begin at 10:am with the subject of: "A review of ALS design loads in offshore Engineering"

The dissertation will be at 12:15 with the title:

Slamming loads on large volume structures from breaking waves

The assessment committee is composed of Professor Emeritus Jørgen Junker Jensen, DTU, Dr. Arne Nestegård, DNVGL and Associate Professor Charlotte Obhrai, UiS (administrator).

Principal supervisor of Lian is Professor Ove Tobias Gudmestad of UiS, Co-supervisor Associate Professor Sverre K. Haver, UiS and Dr. Tone M. Vestbøstad, Equinor. Prof. Chris Swan, Imperial College London  was responsible for 6 month model experiment conducted by Lian.

The dissertation will be lead by Professor Vidar Hansen from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Building and Materials Technology, Faculty of Science and Technology of UiS.

Both dissertation and trial lecture are open to all interested parties. The paper is available for review at the library at UiS.
