Studies in Biological Chemistry
CORE teaches studies in Biological Chemistry, from bachelor to PhD level. Find links to our study programmes below.
The bachelor degree programme provides a fundemental understanding of chemistry, biology and interacting systems.
Specialisation subjects cover organic chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, biological treatment methods, cellular biology and analytical chemistry. The programme is mostly taught in Norwegian.
The MSc degree in Biological Chemistry is a two-year programme. During the first year the students attend classes in biophysical chemistry, bioinformatics, study of human disease and practical courses in molecular biology. Optional subjects are chosen from courses in environmental science, food science, chemistry, or computational biology.
The PhD programme is structured around a common academic and technological platform.
This platform includes protein chemistry/enzymology, gene technology, spectroscopic methods, analytic and physical/biophysical chemistry, organic synthesis, cell/tissue culture, respirometry, applied microbiology and purification technology.
