Visit from Memorial University

The National IOR Centre of Norway has many collaborators around the world. One of them is Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.

University of Stavanger and Memorial Universtiy of New Foundland (MUN) have research collaborations in several areas. At The National IOR Centre of Norway the collaboration with Dr. Lesley James has been going on since the Centre started. There have been exchanges of PhD students and MUN has participated in several conferences with posters and conference submissions.

Risk assessment and offshore technology

Memorial University of Newfoundland and UiS cooperates in other fields as well. Risk assessment and offshore technology are some examples. Last week Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering had a visit from Prof. Wei Qiu. He is the head of the Department of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He visited UiS almost 3 years ago. Now the departments at the two universities are discussing possible collaboration.

Student exchange

Sonja Kundson is head of international office at MUN. UiS and MUN have signed a student exchange agreement. Knudson wanted to become better acquainted with UiS and take a closer look at how we can better promote student exchange. During her visit to UiS she has had various meetings with, among others, international office at UiS.
