Students are describing their experiences at the University of Stavanger.
Damasus Okeke, Nigeria
Today I feel happy to have fulfilled my master study in biological chemistry at the University of Stavanger (UiS). In addition to a conducive learning environment equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation at Centre for Organelle Research (CORE), UiS also has bilateral agreements with top universities in the world. It is a unique opportunity to experience learning, culture and people in another country, and to fulfil your study and career needs to the utmost.
I specifically appreciate the quality of students’ projects, laboratory exercises and assignments. Each task is designed in line with current demand in the job market, providing opportunities to have technical experience. Another unique thing is involvement of experts from industries and research centres in teaching and study exercises. Students go on company visits and field trips to see how it operates in real world.
I have been to other universities both as exchange student and to visit friends, and when it comes to students’ wellbeing, UiS is among the top. Students here are well cared for, and provided with lots of support in their medical and housing needs, as well as social activities. The university staffs at UiS have been very helpful with any questions and requests. Students are provided with every material required to succeed in their studies.
I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to study at UiS, a breeding ground for innovative ideas for the future. I am now confident in my capabilities to take any assignment in a company or research institute. It’s nice to study here!
