There is much to discover in the Stavanger region for the nature lover. From beaches to high mountains, the region is rich in nature and you can get fantastic experiences not far from the city. Miles of beaches and their waves attract artists as well as swimmers and surfers, even from abroad. You can take a boat trip to the beautiful fjords which are located just outside the Stavanger peninsula. You have easy access to the Lysefjord, which is known for the spectacular Pulpit Rock and Kjerag. Or maybe you want to take a drive to the ski terrain and slopes?
SiS Sports Centre
SiS runs the largest sports centre in Rogaland county, which is located on Ullandhaug campus.
They offer a full-size handball court, a climbing wall, a bouldering wall, a weightlifting/cardio area, a crossfit inspired section, a large spinning hall, two squash halls, a kettlebell and TRX room. SiS Sports Centre also offer over 100 group sessions per week ranging from yoga and pilates to zumba, body pump, spinning, and boot camp, among others. In addition, you can enjoy various special events, such as spinning marathons, zumba parties, family events, and climbing courses. There is also a childcare service during the day.

The Student House
In autumn 2011 the Student House was established in the centre of the UiS Ullandhaug campus. The building is used as the basis of student activities on campus. Here you can find the offices of different student organisations and the student chaplain, as well as the student-run pub, Tappetårnet.
Books and bookshop
SiS Bok is the university bookshop and is owned by SiS. It is located in the centre of the campus, in the Kitty Kielland's building. Here you can get the books for your courses, study materials, and literature. The profits from the bookstore go back to you as a student as they are spent on reducing housing costs, better cafeterias and sponsorships for different student activities.
SiS runs six student cafeterias at the University of Stavanger, five of which are located on the Ullandhaug campus and one at Bjergsted campus. Healthy menus, including vegetarian options, are available. At the cafeterias you can buy anything from a light breakfast to a hot meal.

There is also a private run cafeteria, Line Huset Kafé, which is located in the Line Hagbard building on Ullandhaug campus.
SiS kindergarten is a kindergarten with room for 89 children in the age of 0-6 years. The kindergarten is beautifully situated within walking distance of the University of Stavanger, Ullandhaug campus. The main focus of the SiS kindergarten is on outdoor activities.
