Developing competence in drama as an arts subject and as arts education is central to the course, and students will be provided with a foundation on how to lead drama/theatre work. The course will also provide a foundation in relationship building, dialogue and solidarity work.
The course content has a clear practical and artistic methodical aim structured around themes within dramatic forms of expression, exploratory drama work, theatre production, theory and didactics. The five themes are weighted approximately equally, and will to some extent have overlapping content.
The teaching will have different approaches and forms such as lectures, demonstrations, discussions, project work, performance and independent study. Teaching will alternate between spontaneous, intuitive and more analytical, problem-solving work methods individually and in groups of varying size. The target group for this course is students who have previously completed a minimum of one year (60 ETCS) of study in higher education. Students from teacher education, aesthetic or communication programmes will be given priority.
Entry Requirements and course organization
Language requirements: English at B2 level. Applicants are also required to submit a motivation letter as part of the application (maximum 500 words). All course literature is in English. English is also the language of instruction. This is a full-time course which upon completion will give 30 ECTS.
There are a limited number of spaces available for this programme. Admission will be based on academic background of the student.
Due to contact with children, all admitted students will be required to submit an official police declaration (criminal background clearance) in English order to participate.
