During your stay

You are personally responsible for paying your own rent. Please note that you must pay rent from the first day of the contract, regardless of whether you move in on a later date. Furthermore, contracts usually cover one or two full semesters.

The rent includes heating, electricity and internet which cannot be excluded.

SiS housing office does not accept direct payment of the rent in cash or by credit card. The rent can be paid either through online banking or by taking the invoice to a bank or post office. The bank or post office will charge a fee for their services.

The rent can also be paid from abroad. In that case please use the following information to make the transfer:

  • Bank account: 3201 07 40745 (SiS)
  • Bank address: Sparebank 1 SR-Bank, Postboks 250, 4066 Stavanger, Norway
  • IBAN: NO3732010740745
  • BIC: Sprono22  (Be aware that "o" is a letter, NOT number "0")
  • Your reference: Your name + customer number (kundenr.)

Remember that you have to pay the transaction fee. This is done by marking the "All banking charges, both in Norway and abroad will be paid by order" box.

Extending your rental contract

If you want to stay a second semester, report this to SiS housing before 15 November to extend your contract for spring semester and before 15 February for fall semester. All students must have passed a minimum of 20 ECTS per semester in order to extend a rental contract.

Exchange students will need a confirmation from their home institution and also be prepared to show their letter of acceptance for the upcoming semester.

If you lose your key(s), you should immediately contact:

  • Arnljot Corneliussen if you live in a UiS housing (Kitty Kielland's building 3rd floor)
