KÅKÅ|nomics festival starts with a seminar by UiS Business School. This years seminar is about the war in Ukraine, and how it has dramatically changed the outlook for the world economy.
In a war economy the public obligation is to do what is necessary: to support the military effort to be able to protect and defend the territory under attract – leaving their everyday economy behind.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and the sweeping sanctions the US and Europe have imposed on Russia in response, have triggered economic disruptions at four levels: direct, blowback, spillover, and systemic. But what are the long-term consequences of this disruptions war economy? How does it effect trade and do sanctions work as sticks for the development of the war?
