About the role
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Stavanger. As a Project Engineer at Autronica, you will play a key role in developing and delivering fire and gas detection systems for hazardous areas. You’ll support offshore modification projects mainly in Norway. You will also test and commission the systems and act as the technical expert for customers.

Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineer you will:
- Turn customer needs into solutions – analyze specifications and design safe, reliable systems that meet regulations.
- Shape the solutions – define system components and ensure a smooth handover to our production team.
- Bring systems to life – configure fire detection systems and run Factory Acceptance Tests together with customers.
- Keep projects on track – create clear documentation for colleagues, approval bodies, and customers.
- Be hands-on with customers – support installations, integrate systems with other equipment, and solve technical challenges along the way.
- Be the go-to expert – act as the technical point of contact in projects, supporting project managers and ensuring the right solutions are delivered.
- Work as a team – work with other project engineers, the project manager, project coordinator and the document controller to execute projects and generate value for our customers.
Requirements to the applicant
Who you are
You are motivated and curious and bring a strong interest in safety-critical systems and enjoy solving complex technical challenges. Experience with PLC programming, Linux-based systems, CAD software, or the fire detection industry is a plus, but your willingness to learn and develop is equally important. You thrive in a collaborative, adaptable environment where your analytical skills and technical expertise make a real impact.
- Degree or vocational background in engineering – B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electronics, electrical, automation, or a related field. Vocational qualifications (Fagbrev) in electrician, instrumentation, or electronics are also highly valued.
- Experience with AutoCAD (Electrical) or similar software (3Dexperience is a plus).
- Experience in PLC programming and configuration of Linux-based computer systems and networks is an advantage.
- Experience from the fire detection / safety industry is a definite advantage.
- Fluent written and oral in English, Norwegian is a plus.
- Familiar with regulations that apply to the fire detection industry; land, maritime and offshore energy is a definite advantage.
