About me
I have a strong commitment to teachers and the important work they do for society. Media coverage of teacher shortages and working conditions engages me, and I am therefore also very interested in teacher recruitment and the education pathway for student teachers
My research
I research dropout and intention to leave teacher education. I am interested in understanding what makes students choose to leave the teacher education program at different stages of their studies. The goal is to identify factors that can contribute to better completion rates in teacher education.
Academic background
I have completed teacher education myself and have worked in primary and lower secondary schools for a couple of years. I have served as a contact teacher for the middle grades and as a subject teacher for lower secondary, including a period at a Norwegian school in Belgium. I hold a master's degree in mathematics education and have also studied science and religious and ethical education (KRLE). My master’s project examined how students applied their mathematical knowledge when interpreting graphs in a science context.
