Practical Training in Computational Engineering or Energy, Reservoir and Earth Sciences (GEO680)
In this course, learning takes place in a professional environment, either within or outside the university, for example, in a technology company or at a research institute. The course aims to give students practical experience and the opportunity to immerse themselves in selected issues related to real work practices.

NB! This is an elective course and may be cancelled if fewer than 10 students are enrolled by August 20th for the autumn semester.
The student will gain practical knowledge of working in a professional setting.
The student must find the appropriate workplace on their own. In cooperation with the student, workplace, and lecturer, an agreement/contract and plan are devised for how the internship and supervision are conducted. The evaluation will be made based on a report and presentation from the student. The report should contain a discussion of specified issues related to business practices. In the case the work is performed in a company, documentation certifying that the student performed the work accordingly is a requirement.
The course is normally conducted in the fall semester.

Required prerequisite knowledge
In order to register for this course, the student must have passed at least 40 ECTS credits in their approved education plan.
The student must receive an approval in order to participate in the course - the approval is based on a project proposal that must be submitted by June 15. Approvals are given by August 15 so that the student has time to register for an alternate course if necessary.
