Information about the university

The University of Hradec Králové is divided into 4 faculties and 1 institute: The Faculty of Education, The Faculty of Informatics and Management, The Philosophical Faculty, The Faculty of Science, and The Institute of Social Work. The University has about 6300 students. The University campus “Na Soutoku” (“At the Confluence”) is situated conveniently in the town centre within walking distance of other university buildings.

UiS has an Erasmus+ agreement with Hradec Králové within Social Sciences.

Language of instruction

English.

Language requirements

English proficiency recommended at minimum B1 level (read intermediate = 3 in English from 'vgs' for Norwegian students) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Students who do not meet the language requirements will be offered online language courses prior to the exchange period.

Faculty of Social Sciences: 2 places divided between students in Political Science and Sociology

Tuition fee

Students going on exchange within the Erasmus+-programme are exempted from tuition fees.

Scholarship

Erasmus+-grant in combination with loan and grant from Lånekassen for eligible students.

Autumn semester: September - December (examination period: January)
Spring semester: February - May (examination period: June)

Dersom utvekslingssemesteret avsluttes senere enn det påfølgende semesteret starter ved UiS, vil instituttet/fakultetet (i samarbeid med partnerinstitusjonen) sørge for tilrettelegging av din utdanningsplan, slik at du ikke blir forsinket i dine studier.

Det finnes ulike muligheter for tilrettelegging: Det kan være at man tar emner som ikke krever at man er tilstede under eksamensperioden, at man får fritak fra obligatorisk undervisning ved UiS eller at man får forlenget frist for innlevering av bachelor- og masteroppgave.
