We will handle data responsibly and the following principles for privacy and data protection is key:

University of Stavanger will not use cookies to gather information unnecessarily. However, we use Google Analytics to measure traffic to our websites. The information collected by cookies is used to improve usability for our online visitors. Information will only be used by us and by partners helping us develop our websites. This information will never be transferred to any third party.

We don't use cookies to map single users nor collect information that may conflict with privacy and data protection policies. To secure this we use Google Analytics IP Anonymization that masks part of a user’s IP address.

You may experience getting ads from us on other websites, based on content and pages you have visited on www.uis.no. For this, we use cookies issued by third parties (such as Facebook and Google) on our behalf and with our permission. The same companies have technology to reach you on several of your digital devices. Other than this, we do not share information with other parties. The information we use to show you customized ads is deleted after six months.

_gaStatistics: Used to distinguish users via anonymisation
_utmaStatistics: Used to distinguish users and sessions.
_utmzStatistics: Stores the traffic source or campaign that explains how the user reached your site.
