Bio

My background is in clinical, community and cultural psychology and I work as transdisciplinary as possible in favour of mental health and well-being. I hold a dual degree in psychology from Colombia (my homeland) and Italy, and have full authorisation to practice as a clinical psychologist in Norway.

I earned my doctoral degree in Psychology at NTNU - The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, writing a thesis about silence and emotions in our everyday lives. I continued my stay at NTNU with a postdoctoral fellow in Mental Health, focusing on therapeutic writing and existential meaning among older adults.

My main areas of research are: qualitative methodologies and epistemology in qualitative research; R&D of low-threshold interventions to promote mental health and well-being; grief; silence; feelings and emotions; therapeutic writing; existential meaning; compassion; meaning-making; the psychological humanities; aesthetics; history of psychology.

When it comes to my training in clinical psychology, I would describe it as pluralistic and integrative, with a special focus on existential psychology. These are some of my clinical qualifications:

  • Certified instructor in Mindful Eating - Conscious Living (MEC-CL) by the University of California San Diego.

  • Fullfilled the Levels 1 and 2 of the core skills training in couple therapy by The Gottman Institute.

  • Fullfilled a core skills training in Viktor Frankl's Logotherapy and Existential Analysis, by the ALAEF - Associazione di Logoterapia e Analisi Esistenziale Frankliana in Italy in collaboration with the Catholic University of Milan.

  • Fulfilled the therapists' training program in Emotion-focused Skill Training for Parents (EFST), at the Norwegian Institute of Emotion-focused Therapy.

  • I have fulfilled 2 out of 3 modules of psychotherapy training in Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT) at NIEFT - The Norwegian Institute of Emotion-focused Therapy. This is a 3 years training program approved by the Norwegian Association of Psychologists.
