Travelling by bus

You can plan your bus journey on the web pages of the public transport company Kolumbus or in the Kolumbus app, which can also be used to pay for your trip. If you have registered as a student, you get a discount on your bus tickets. If you buy tickets at a discount, you must bring your student ID while travelling.

The Airport Express has two lines. One of them ("Rute via SUS / UiS Øst") stops at UiS Øst and UiS Kjølv Egelands hus in the university campus. There is also a bus stop at Innovasjonsparken Stavanger (Ipark).

Travelling by bicycle

If you have a bike you can get to our campuses at Ullandhaug or Bjergsted by using the roads or bicylce paths. Parking is available for 960 bikes on Ullandhaug, most of which are under a roof.

Travelling by car and parking license

The parking fee at campus is NOK 20 per hour, with a daily cap of NOK 200. You can pay with the APCOA FLOW app or use the payment machines on site.

Students and staff automatically receive discounted rates (NOK 6.25 per hour between 08:00 and 16:00, with a daily cap of NOK 50) when using the Apcoa app. You must create a user profile in APCOA FLOW and register your vehicle(s). Using the payment machines on site will result in the higher guest rate.

Finding parking spaces can sometimes be challenging, especially right after the start of the semester. Therefore, we encourage guests to arrive well in advance of events.

Acommodation

Ydalir Hotel is an excellent hotel on campus, commonly used by academics coming to UiS for conferences and meetings. Ydalir offers special prices for longterm rental.

The hotel is located next to a bus stop for the airport and to Stavanger town centre.
