Bachelor's thesis in Tourism Management (BRLBAO)
The bachelor thesis is the final part of the study program.
The thesis is an independent study in which one should use the knowledge gained in the program. The work on the bachelor's thesis consists of a self-selected critical problem formulation which is solved methodically with the aim of arriving at as verified a reasoned conclusion as possible. The work is carried out by continuously documenting method use and source material in line with current standards for this.
An information meeting will be held during fall semester (in the fifth semester) with presentation of relevant topics and themes. It is possible to write assignments in collaboration with industry.
Students should have completed a required course in methodology and seminar before they submit a project plan. The project plan is approved by the supervisor.

Content
The students choose, justify and formulate the assignment's problem themselves within the given framework. They must solve this using relevant, appropriate and research methodical methods and tools, and give a reasoned conclusion on the solution of the task. This work must be compiled in a written document in an academic style and in line with academically relevant standards. The problem can be empirically exploratory, theoretically investigative or project-oriented. Investigation and answers to other questions can also form the basis of the assignment, preferably in consultation with the supervisor.
The task can be submitted as an individual work or as a group work carried out by up to three students. In the case of group work, there is a requirement for joint responsibility, active cooperation and joint participation.
The scope of the bachelor's thesis is determined by the academic requirement for factual relevance. The scope is closely linked to the chosen problem and the processes linked to its solution.
A written guide for thesis writing is available for students on Canvas. All relevant information will be posted on Canvas. The thesis should be theoretically based on at least one course and apply methods that are relevant for the particular study program. Students must have completed a course in methodology, literature search and thesis seminar before they submit their thesis project. The project description is approved by the supervisor.
It is estimated a working time of one term to write a thesis in accordance with the number of points given.
